In one corner of Euljiro, where the nostalgia of Seoul remains, the smell of seasoned golbaengi (sea snails) spreads. Pungnam Golbaengi is a golbaengi restaurant with the oldest tradition in Golbaengi Alley in Euljiro. Pungnam Golbaengi, started by parents in 1984 and inherited by their children, is a 100-year-old store that seeks constant development to maintain its traditional taste.
The main menu, seasoned golbaengi, is cooked by only the second-generation CEO and founder, who inherited the family business from his parents. All ingredients are purchased after seeing and checking them in person. The noodles, which determine the taste of the golbaengi salad, are extracted from the noodle shop. The golbaengi is supplied by selecting fresh domestic products tasted by the founder or the children. Food ingredients such as red pepper powder and perilla oil are also provided by perilla oil companies that have been trading for more than 30 years to create fresh food. The taste was excellent, so there were many franchise suggestions, but Pungnam Golbaengi refused, fearing that the quality of the food would deteriorate. Customers have loved this 100-year-old store as a golbaengi specialty store that has maintained the traditional taste for over 40 years in the alley.
