Using a Taxi in Seoul

General Taxi

The most common type of taxi in Seoul.
Relatively affordable fares. Available everywhere.
The vehicle comes in various colors, such as orange, white, and gray.



Deluxe Taxi

A taxi service that offers more spacious and safer rides compared to regular taxis. The fares are generally higher than regular taxis, with no additional charges for late-night or out-of-meter services.
These black taxis with gold stripes are typically seen around major hotels and tourist attractions.



Large Taxi

A large taxi that can accommodate up to 8 passengers.
The fares are the same as deluxe taxis, and the vehicles are marked with the word "대형" (large)


Warning
Warning:Please be aware of the differences between legitimate passenger transport, large taxis, and vans, which charge higher fares for the purpose of transporting cargo and passengers.
Vans are labeled with "밴" or "콜밴" and do not use meters.


International Taxi

Seoul's officially designated taxi service for foreigners.
Fares are generally higher than regular taxis, and drivers are proficient in the foreign languages indicated on the vehicle's side, which include English, Chinese, and Japanese.
The vehicles are black or orange, with "인터내셔널" (International) written on the car doors. They offer reservation services, hourly rentals, airport pickup services, and fixed-rate sightseeing tours.
