The brewery is operated by Master Kim Taeksang, who was designated as Seoul City's Intangible Asset No. 8 for his expertise and skills in traditional Korean liquor brewing.
Samhae-ju is a variety of liquor made by the brewery. Samhae's name comes from the Korean word for "three" sam and an archaic term for pig, hae . Although not widely in use in modern times, the lunar calendar had monthly cycles with each day carrying a different sign. The day of the pig is one day in the lunar monthly cycle. Samhae-ju must be brewed three times and traditionally it is brewed on the day of the pig. The brewery offers brewing classes and an experience program. Activities include sampling and making traditional liquor. The program includes the tasting of liquors such as samhae soju, yakju (herbal liquor), and makgeolli (rice wine ).
