Saturday Performance of Korean Music & Dance

At the National Gugak Center’s “Saturday Performance of Korean Music and Dance”, 4 different groups will gather together on stage and perform some of their main repertoire. Up until now, combined compositions were performed in order to present all the different genres of Korean traditional music on one stage. But in this new year, each genre will be more deeply and fully portrayed.
The classical music group (Jeongakdan), dance theatre (Muyongdan), original music group (Changjakakdan), and the folk music group (Minsokakdan) will each be performing pieces that represent their respective genres.

In addition to performances related to the 4 different genres, there will also be combined performances and UNESCO’s “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity” performance. For this performance especially, expert commentators will be available to provide deeper insight to the public.
