Located in Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu, Kyung-ki Tteok Store makes all its rice cake using old, traditional methods. Their most popular menu and signature rice cake is their “Iti Tteok”, a uniquely shaped Northern-style Injeolmi (bean flour coated rice cake) coated in dehulled red bean powder.

Art Students' Paradise:
Homi Art Shop
since 1975
The store has been running its business for over 40 years, passing down two generations since its opening in 1975. It's a very popular art supply store among Hongdae art students and is open all year round except for major holidays like Lunar New Year and Chuseok. Also popular with foreign tourists, Homi Art Shop 's website is developed and operated by a foreign fan of the art store.

A cultural space showing various types of classic and modern performing arts, Sanwoolim Theater has been offering high-quality theater art and performances for the past 30 years. Located in Sinchon, Geulbeot Bookstore is a used bookstore carrying a wide range of books in genres such as humanities, social science, self-improvement, magazines, comic books, music books, and more. Also carrying a lot of foreign books, this bookstore has been attracting more and more foreigners on top of its regular Korean customers. Since it's opening in 1979, the bookstore has operated under the philosophy that "one may skip a meal but never miss out on reading a book."

One of the well-known tteokbokki places along Gongdeok-dong Tteokbokki Street, Kokkiri Bunsik operates 2 stores. Receiving acknowledgements from many gourmets, it was featured on the prestigious restaurant guidebook, “Blue Ribbon Survey”, for the last 2 years. Despite popularity, it has managed to maintain its low price for food, selling tteokbokki at 3,000 won and fried food at 1,000 won.

Located in Mapo-gu near Seoul Garden Hotel, Darak is a frequently visited tteokbokki (stir fried rice cake) store. Unlike other bunsik (snack) stores, this store sells alcohol. It’s the perfect place to go on days when you get a craving for some tteokbokki and soju. Known for their tasty tteokbokki, there’s always a line around this store.
