Set in the 1960s when the concept of “musical” was barely known in Korea, this comedy musical follows Director Yoo Deok-han and producer Kim Young-woong as they embark on a mission to create Korea’s very first musical—one that could rival even North Korea’s Pibada Opera Troupe.
The First Great Show is a well-made original musical developed over three years by the Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre in collaboration with Korea’s top creative team—director Kim Dong-yeon, writer Park Hae-rim, and composer Choi Jong-yoon. With leading musical actors Lee Chang-yong and Cho Hyung-kyun, as well as talented Seoul City Musical Theatre members Park Sung-hoon and Lee Seung-jae, the show promises a unique and delightful comedy experience.
