Hirako, who studied painting at Wimbledon College of Art in London and continues to work internationally based in Tokyo, seeks the coexistence of man and nature. He created a hybrid character as a medium to connect human with nature. The character, who has a human body and tree head, travels with dogs, cats, and various plants in the exhibition. Sometimes by the river, sometimes in the forest, and other times in a room, these scenes with flora and fauna are transformed into a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, and installation, to give the viewers a more sensory understanding of nature. Through this, Hirako questions anthropocentric attitudes toward nature, suggesting that nature be viewed on an equal footing rather than as an object to be explored and conquered.
