Fight for My Way is a K-drama based on the current economic climate in Korea. With an economic downturn affecting every corner of the country, many young adults are struggling to make ends meet, failing to access an income sufficient to sustain their basic livelihood following high school or college graduation. K-drama Fight for My Way depicts four characters who carry “third-tier résumés” that often become a subject of belittlement and a source of competitive disadvantage in today’s job market. It is in such context that the love and support that the characters have for each other are portrayed in the K-drama’s relatable storyline, showcasing unique date ideas for young and trend-savvy crowds of Seoul.

Course 1.

Sky Yard, An Urban Sanctuary on a Rooftop

Built in 1926, Seoul Metropolitan Library retains indeed rich history. Before it was remodelled to open its doors as a public library, Seoul Metropolitan Library was formerly Seoul City Hall while its surrounding area is known to have been an important site of the March 1st Movement, a series of demonstrations that took place across Korea to rally for independence from Japanese rule. Nestled in the midst of Jung-gu district’s urban environment, the Seoul Metropolitan Library is housed in a unique Renaissance-style stone building. The historic building is also home to Sky Yard rooftop gardens, where Dong-man and Ae-ra shared both positive and negative sentiments regarding the uncertainties of their future in the third episode of Fight for My Way . Offering a panoramic view of the Blue House, Gyeongbokgung Palace and Seoul N Tower, Sky Yard serves as a peaceful oasis above the bustling streets surrounding Seoul Plaza. Visitors can grab coffee or a bite to eat at the café located inside the library and enjoy it at the serene garden during warmer seasons.

Course 2.

Miss Yoon in Wonderland, Where Joo-man’s Love Was Wonderfully Proved

Inside a quaint red-bricked building is a small wonderland full of colorful objects. In Fight for My Way , Joo-man’s nephew celebrated his birthday at Miss Yoon in Wonderland. What was meant to be a beautiful occasion turned into a disaster as Joo-man rescued his girlfriend from his hostile sisters who demanded her to do all the dirty work. From hanging dolls decorating the ceilings to John Brauer’s Illusion Tables placed in the corners, there is a lot to see in this Italian restaurant. On the menu are traditional Italian fare and colorful cocktails. Rooftop seatings are available upstairs, providing a great view of the vast green plain surrounding the Yangjaecheon stream.

Course 3.

Ae-ra Showed off Her Talents at LUKA 511

Ae-ra’s life-long goal is to become a television announcer. As for talents, she is a natural-born entertainer. When the original MC at her colleague’s wedding turned out to be absent in an episode of Fight for My Way , Ae-ra finally showed off her skills. Dressed in a lovely gown, she picked up the mic and began to lead the wedding. This uplifting scene took place at LUKA 511, an outdoor wedding venue located in Cheongdam-dong. As known to many Hallyu fans, it is also a filming location featured in K-drama My Love from the Star. The European-style wedding hall is divided in three sections: the main hall, the gardens and the French restaurant. The restaurant is open to all visitors and offers an idyllic view of the gardens.
 

Course 4.

Moo-bin’s Love at First Sight, AY Lounge

The seemingly-sweet Moo-bin fell in love with Ae-ra while she was busy with her impromptu show at the wedding. At the after-party, friends of the groom tried to get Ae-ra a little drunk by urging her to keep drinking. Already head over heel in love with Ae-ra, Moo-bin stepped up to her defense and took the drinks himself. This is how Moo-bin and Ae-ra’s relationship began, at AY Lounge located in Yeoksam-dong. So far, the bar has been featured in numerous K-dramas and K-TV show including Infinity Challenge, Ohhaeyoung Again and Uncontrollably Fond. Complete with finely-polished wood and leather, the vintage interior of AY Lounge exudes a European castle-like atmosphere. The bar seats on the first floor frequently appear on K-dramas and K-TV shows, while the upstairs lounge area provides a better ambience and a view of the venue.
